It’s that time again!  The ladies of Kingwood Women’s Club are busy working on all the details of their upcoming 12th Annual Holiday Marketplace.  It’s just gets better every year and this year is no exception!  There are gifts for everyone on your list - to include yourself!  All new Marketplace decorations have been planned to include a complete new color pallet that will awaken your senses and put you in that holiday mood.

 

Marketplace will again be held at the Humble Civic Center on Will Clayton Parkway in Humble.  Monday evening, October 27 from 7 - 9:30 will be our Preview Shopping Party with all proceeds from this evening benefiting Project Mammogram.  Wine and refreshments made from the recipes in The new Kingwood Women’s Cookbook - Flavors From The Forest  (which will also be on sale at Marketplace) and tickets are $25 in advance only which includes admission only to the Marketplace the following day. The Marketplace and Holiday Luncheon will be Tuesday October  28 from 9 - 5.  Tickets are $25  for the Marketplace and Holiday Luncheon and $7  for general admission tickets.  Call 281-540-9346 for tickets, or email us at kwcweb@aol.com.  Tickets are also sold at Sterling Events in Alspaugh’s ACE Hardware of Kingwood and Atascocita ACE Hardware in Atascocita.  Tickets are sold in advance and there are only 350 reservations available for the Holiday Luncheon, so plan now.  Also, please check out our web site at www.kingwoodwomensclub.com for additional information.

 

All year long, the ladies of KWC work tirelessly to prepare for their annual fundraising event, the Holiday Marketplace.  All proceeds from this event benefit local charities.  Projects such as Project Mammogram, administered through Northeast Hospital Foundation (over 600 applications were approved in 2007); Feed My Lambs, a program to provide lunch to shut-ins; Kingwood Pines Hospital Children’s Mental Health Unit, where members provide clothing, stuffed animals, games, toys, and our annual Christmas gift project;  Local elementary schools, where members provide mentoring, clothing and assist school nurses with Vision and Hearing testing each fall; Humble Area Assistance Ministries (HAAM), a social services network for the needy; Friends of the Library Kingwood, the fundraising group for our library here in Kingwood; Society of St. Stephens, a clothing and food pantry; Family Time, a resale shop supporting The Door (a shelter for battered women and children); and Lone Star Community College Scholarships, by supporting single young mothers working to better their and their children’s lives through education.  Besides the money that is raised, members of KWC volunteer in the community thousands of hours every year.

 

Shop!  Shop!  Shop!  There will be over 50 new vendors from all over the country selling their merchandise this year.  The best of the best of former vendors will also return, giving us a total of over 90 vendors - each with their own little unique shop at our Holiday Marketplace.  Vendors will be selling upscale home décor items, fragrant bath products, stunning jewelry, darling children’s clothing, yummy food items, beautiful and upscale women’s clothing and accessories, floral arrangements, and of course, exciting holiday decorations for everyone’s style to include fall decorations!  New this year, will be a holiday gazebo in the center of the shops providing a ‘meeting place’ and ‘rest stop’ for happy shoppers!
