Local Kingwood Artist Cathy Espinosa Payne To Participate In Houston Via Colori 2009
Cathy Espinosa Payne, local Kingwood artist and art teacher at St. Martha Catholic School, will once again be participating in the The Center for Hearing and Speech’s (CHS) annual fundraiser - Houston Via Colori, a street painting festival.
Via Colori is a free event celebrating an artistic journey and making a difference to the CHS. The festival showcases 200 artists creating large-scale murals directly on the streets of Allen Parkway and Bagby at Sam Houston Park in Downtown Houston.
The artistic spirit of Houston Via Colori benefits The Center for Hearing and Speech, a non-profit organization that teaches children with hearing impairments speaking, listening, and literacy skills. Each year, CHS provides education, audiology, speech pathology and family support services to more than 2,000 children from mild to profound hearing loss and to thousands of others with needs related to hearing loss. It is the only full service resource in Houston that specializes in Oral Deaf Education.
Presented by El Paso Corporation and Quantum Energy Partners, Houston Via Colori runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, November 21 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, November 22.
