The ABC’s of Kingwood Women’s Club Holiday Marketplace

"A" is for Appetizer and these appetizers earn an A+ for creativity and delectability. Come sample Goat Cheese Empanadas, Salmon Mousse in Phyllo Cups, and Red Velvet Cake Balls at the Holiday Marketplace Preview Party on October 26th from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. at the Humble Civic Center. These delicious morsels (just a few of what will be offered) are handmade by Su Duggan and her fellow volunteers from the Kingwood Women’s Club (KWC). Preview Party tickets are $25 and include complimentary appetizers, wine, beer, or soft drinks along with general admission to the Holiday Marketplace the following day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Su Duggan, long time member of KWC, says "The Preview Party is always a fun time because there are delicious treats to sample, upscale merchandise to buy, AND free flowing wine!" Also, at the Preview Party only, "A" is for Auction. Two silent auction packages will be available for bid. The first package is a catered crawfish boil for 50 people donated by Dup’s Cajun Warehouse. The second package is for four couples that includes spa treatments from The Conservatory Day Spa, rounds of golf at Oakhurst, and a four course gourmet meal with cooking lesson from The Veranda.

"B" is for ‘Babies to Boomers’. At the Holiday Marketplace and Preview Party you will find something for everyone on your list. Over 80 vendors from across the Gulf Coast will arrive with their unique products on October 26th and 27th. There will be handmade jewelry, children’s items, gorgeous home accessories, gourmet food items, beautiful fashions and much, much more. In addition to the shopping, you will find all types of raffle items including a flat screen TV, diamond earrings, and spa treatments. A catered lunch by Carrabba’s is available on the 27th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. or stop by the Snack Shop sponsored by Jason’s Deli, Top Hat Catering, and Kroger’s of Kingwood.

"C" is for charity. Whether you buy a raffle ticket, purchase something from the vendors, or buy a sandwich from the snack shop, ALL proceeds are donated to the charities that KWC supports such as H.A.A.M., Family Time, Feed My Lambs and many others. Lynn Harper, Director of Society of St. Stephen (SOSS), says "The funds received from the KWC Holiday Marketplace affords SOSS the opportunity to help our clients all year long." The proceeds specifically from the sale of Preview Party tickets will be given to Project Mammogram administered by the Northeast Hospital Foundation.

The Holiday Marketplace and Preview Party will be held at the Humble Civic Center, 8233 Will Clayton Parkway on October 26th and 27th. Tickets to the Preview Party are $25, which includes general admission on the 27th. Luncheon tickets are $25, which includes all day shopping from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. General Admission tickets for the 27th are $7.
