City Council Member and Candidate for Mayor Peter Brown visited with Kingwood residents and listened to their concerns at a meet-and-greet hosted by Fred Rosenberg, owner of Toys & Candies On the Park, a local small business. Brown spoke with dozens of residents about the community's specific needs, and promised as Mayor to pay more attention to Kingwood.

"Kingwood is a wonderful community, a livable forest, and the City of Houston should work with residents to keep it that way," said Brown. "Kingwood residents are concerned about the economy, crime, and traffic - and I want them to know I'm committed to working with them to find real solutions."

This past week, Brown mailed his "Blueprint For An Even Better Houston" directly to thousands of Houston voters, including many in Kingwood. It outlines real solutions to make Houston safer, more prosperous, and improve the quality of life in Houston's neighborhoods. Speaking to voters in Kingwood today, Brown talked about his proposal for a Department of Neighborhoods, which would refocus city services back to Kingwood, better addressing the area's unique issues and sparing residents from having to drive City Hall when they needed simple services.

"Peter Brown has proven that he's the candidate who cares the most about the issues here in Kingwood and will do the most about them as Mayor,” said Rosenberg. “I’m supporting Peter for Mayor because he has the experience and vision we need to get results for Houston.”

Following the event, Brown appeared on the Friendly Fridays Lunchtime Networking And Live Radio Show on Kingwood Radio with Kingwood Chamber of Commerce President Sparky Nolan and DJ Mark Linabury at Rico's Mexican Restaurant. On the show, Brown discussed working with the Chamber of Commerce and Nolan to maintain the character of unique communities like Kingwood.
