Nico's launches Final Friday Night event to cater to Kingwood's 30+ crowd the last Friday of the month.

Nico's Place does have a history in Kingwood.  Some may remember the days of a smoke filled bar where regulars pulled up a chair and soaked in the atmosphere.  Those are great memories for some but was not always everyone's cup of tea.  With a new location, a smoke free environment and some fresh ideas, Greg and Emmy Lee would like to invite the community to drop in and experience the difference of the new Nico's.

"Many people do not realize we have a kitchen and a menu." Greg noted.  "We want people to know they can drop in for lunch and try our fresh sandwiches, salads or even a pizza.  We have also added a fryer allowing us to offer great appetizers and fries.  Nico's is also a place to stop in for a drink after a movie or a shopping day at the mall."

Emmy Patch Lee grew up in Kingwood.  She and her husband Greg moved back to 'The Livable Forest' from Connecticut in July of 2009.  "It is wonderful to be back in Kingwood." said Emmy. "I have been able to reconnect with some very good friends.  I also like that we are doing business in Kingwood.  We joined the Kingwood Chamber of Commerce the day we attended our first chamber event in November down the street from us at Sullivan's Advanced Paint & Body."

The Lees worked with a business broker to find a business that they could invest in and one that would work for them.  "When Nico's Place was shown to us, we knew it was the right fit." said Greg. "As soon as we walked in the door, the ideas started clicking."

Those ideas include great entertainment throughout the week and weekend, a popular happy hour from 4-8pm and a new giant 12 foot screen to watch the big games and events on.

"We also want this to be a place for friends, couples and parents to have a fun night out" said Emmy.  "We have lined up some great entertainment and themes to choose from."

One of those themes will be Final Friday Nights held the last Friday of the month.  It is designed for Kingwood's 30+ crowd to have a night out on the town.  DJ Mark Linabury of Kingwood Radio will transform Nico's Place in to a dance style club with music, lights and an innovative video show on the big screen.  "I've DJ'd many weddings, parties and events in and around Kingwood." said Linabury. "I know the 30+ crowd loves to get out, dance and have a good time.  They just have not had a place in Kingwood to do it.  I will be featuring music from the 70's, 80's, 90's as well as today and yes, I do take requests."    The next Final Friday Night will be held on Friday February 26th from 8pm to Midnight.

Nico's Place is located at 22610 Loop 494.  To stay updated on events at Nico's join their Facebook page here or call them at 281-358-6653.
