Out of approximately 2,500 survey responders, 82% preferred Calendar Option A for the 2010-2011 school year.

Option A ends first semester before winter break. Additional responses show the following preferences for next year's calendar:

    * 95% prefer to have a week-long Spring Break; 5% prefer less
    * 93% prefer a two-week Winter Break; 7% prefer less
    * 84% prefer first semester to end before Winter Break; 16% prefer it to end in mid January
    * Reponders were 85% parent and/or employee & parent; 5% student, and 10% community member or employee without children enrolled in Humble ISD

The Texas Legislature requires school districts to begin the school year no earlier than the fourth Monday in August. Each year community preferences are gathered in a survey. Over the years, the results consistently have shown a clear preference for a week long Spring Break, a two week Winter Break, and ending the first semester before Winter Break.
