Personalize It Announces Community ‘Give-Back’ Program
Local business owner Tracey Gibbs has announced a program designed to help individuals support their favorite organizations while assuring that locally-owned businesses remain profitable and able to serve their communities.
The economy has families and businesses tightening spending and, unfortunately, local organizations have a tough time serving the community when donations are down.
By shopping smart, consumers can spend – and send – their money where their heart is.
“I opened my store more than three years ago and have donated products and money to countless civic and philanthropic organizations. Unfortunately it’s hard for small businesses to say ‘yes’ to everyone seeking donations and remain in business,” she said.
In an effort to aid more groups within our community, Gibbs has created a “Give-Back” program.
The goal of the new program is to “Give-Back” to the community by allowing customers to designate which organizations receives a rebate based on member spending, said Gibbs.
She opened Personalize It, located at 1850 W. Lake Houston Pkwy, so that Lake Houston area residents have a store specializing in unique and personal gifts. As an active member of a number of organizations Gibbs takes her role as a contributing member of the community seriously and has become an advocate for locally-owned businesses.
“When people spend their money at a national chain they are doing little to support their community. It’s been proven that 68 cents of every dollar spent in independently owned stores returns to the local economy through taxes, payroll, and other expenditures,” said Gibbs.
It’s easy for groups to join the “Give-Back” program, simply call Gibbs 281-361-5119 or stop by the store.
